Supporting craftsmanship starts with vocational training. The quality of vocational training in Russia and Ukraine, particularly that of the construction and building trades, does not meet today's requirements. While there is tremendous demand for solidly trained experts, the training structures are outdated.

Causeni, Moldavia Project Site
Working with the Moldavian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as the Causeni Vocational College, we launched a project to modernize the carpenter training program in April 2011. We intentionally selected a project site in a region with little development in order to provide perspectives for modern vocational training in an underprivileged area.

Our projects aim to model the restructuring of training for specific professions in collaboration with other foundations and institutions at select vocational schools. In doing so, we strive to convey european standards. For this purpose, we develop curricula, establish and equip workshops, train teachers, while tracking, evaluating and documenting the entire process scientifically in order to make them replicable. The decisive factor for long-term success is convincing and integrating state and local authorities, gearing our work strictly to the needs and requirements of the target countries as well as collaborating with our partners in Eastern Europe as equals.
